3. Till min älskade skriven av Siv Andersson

Det var som högsta vinsten
i ett gratislotteri
när jag fick möta dig
och du och jag blev ”vi”.

Av alla dessa mänskor
är du just den jag vill ha.
Du ger mig ljus och glädje,
du får mig att må bra…

Ja, för allt min kärlek rymmer
finns inte nog med ord.
För att älska och att älskas
är det största på vår jord.

Och allt du är för mig
vill jag för dig få vara…
för kärleken i mig
finns till för att besvara.

Karin Boye

Du är min renaste tröst,
du är mitt fastaste skydd,
du är det bästa jag har,
ty intet gör ont som du.

Nej, intet gör ont som du.
Du svider som is och eld,
du skär som ett stål min själ —
du är det bästa jag har.

i allt livs hjärta,

Varför skulle all vår heta längtan

10. I Folkviseton skriven av Nils Ferlin

Mitt hjärta är ditt,
ditt hjärta är mitt
och aldrig jag lämnar det åter.
Min lycka är din, din lycka är min
och gråten är min när du gråter.

Lyckans blomma och
frukt kommer dofta
för att vi ska visa kärleken ofta.
Den må växa och gro
som en kärleks bro.

11. Dina ögon äro eldar skriven av Erik Axel Karlfeldt

Dina ögon och min själ
är beck och kåda.
Vänd dig från mig,
förrän jag tändes som
en mila innantill!
En fiol jag är med världens
alla visor i sin låda,
du kan bringa den att spela,
hur du vill och vad du vill.
Vänd dig från mig,
vänd dig till mig!
Jag vill brinna,
jag vill svalna.
Jag är lust och jag är längtan,
gränsbo mellan höst och vår.
Spända äro alla strängar,
låt dem sjunga rusigt galna,
i en sista dråplig högsång
alla mina kärleksår.

Vänd dig till mig,
vänd dig från mig! Som en
höstkväll låt oss brinna;
stormens glädje genomströmmar
vårt baner av blod och gull –
tills det lugnar och jag ser
i skymning dina steg försvinna,
du, den sista som mig följde
för min heta ungdoms skull.

12. Poem skriven av Ingemar Leckius

Jag förnimmer din närhet,
främmande som vildrosens doft.
Med domnande sinnen söker jag dig,
allt levandes fäste.

Det är hos varandra vi bor
under svarta stjärnbilder.

i hängivelsens öken.

13. Den här skriven av Göran Palm

Jag har framgång, du har tur.
Jag är potent, du blir med barn.
Jag fostrar dem, du kramar dem.
Jag arbetar, du stannar hemma.
Så blir vi tupp och höna.
Jag är strassas, du är hispig.
Jag är bohemisk, du är slarvig.
Jag är retlig, du är mopsig.

14. Kyssen skriven av J.L. Runeberg

J.L Runeberg

Jag kysser dig och ledsnar ej.
Och skall jag någonsin ledsna? Nej!

Du kysste den ej mera ömt;
Om galla vore stänkt därpå,
Du kysste lika ömt ändå.

Se till, vad förebär du väl,
Om någon frågar efter skäl,
Om någon oblygt kommer nu
Och frågar: varför kysses du?

Och folket dömer strängt, min vän,
vad skall det säga då om den,
Som annat ej än kyssa gör,
Och själv ej en gång vet varför?

För min del jag ej hittat på,
vad gott i kyssen finnas må;

15. Poem skriven av Carol Rush

Du är samtliga färger
på livets palett och
när något känns fel
vänder du det rätt.
Du kan sången och texten
i all min musik
och för mig är du alltid
speciell och unik.
Du har blivit en vän
jag kan lita på den
som gärna är kvar
när de andra vill gå.
Jag önskar dig enbart
lycka i livet
och ber dig att inte ta
allting för givet.
Men en sak är säker,
det lovar jag dig
att alltid ska Du
vara vännen för mig.

i mitt bröst bragt hjärtat i häftig skälvning.
Ser jag blott dig skymta förbi mig flyktigt,
stockar sig rösten;

tungans makt är bruten och under huden
löper elden genast i fina flammor;

all min arma kropp. Jag blir mer färglöst blek
än ängens strå. Och det tycks som vore
döden mig nära.

17. Sådan är kärleken skriven av Bo Setterlind

Den kommer fågelvägen,
och vi förstår,
att vi har inget val.
Vi måste ta emot den
som man tar emot en ängel,
som plötsligt landar
i vår tåredal,
vi måste ta emot den
som man tar emot en sägen
och tro med samma tro,
som barnet har.

Sådan är kärleken
vi ville välja
– men hade inget val.

18. Dagen svalnar skriven av Edith Södergran

Du sökte en blomma
och fann en frukt.
Du sökte en källa
och fann ett hav.
Du sökte en kvinna
och fann en själ –
du är besviken.

19. Poem skriven av Ethel Törander

Kom till mig
när natten tiger still.
Tag mig, värm mig,
håll mig när, tätt intill.
Låt mig känna rytmen
från ditt hjärtats slag,
känna pulsarna som bränna,
utplåna mitt jag.
För mig till vår himmel
i molnslöjors skymd.
Sammangjutna skall vi
sväva i lycksalighetens rymd.

framför några exotiska frukter i snabbköpet!
Och att bära hem kassarna
som skär in i händerna.
Till allt detta som vore omöjligt
att uppleva så starkt
om vi inte stod varandra mycket nära.

Engelska kärleksdikter

1. Come, and Be my Baby skriven av Maya Angelou

The highway is full of big cars going nowhere fast
And folks is smoking anything that’ll burn
Some people wrap their lives around a cocktail glass
And you sit wondering
where you’re going to turn.
I got it.
Come. And be my baby.

Some prophets say the world is gonna end tomorrow
But others say we’ve got a week or two
The paper is full of every kind of blooming horror
And you sit wondering
what you’re gonna do.
I got it.
Come. And be my baby.

2. How Do I Love Thee? skriven av Elizabeth Barrett Browning

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

3. To My Dear and Loving Husband skriven av Anne Bradstreet

Anne Bradstreet

If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were loved by wife, then thee.
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold,
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee give recompense.
Thy love is such I can no way repay;
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love let’s so persever,
That when we live no more, we may live ever.

4. To Be In Love skriven av Gwendolyn Brooks

To be in love
Is to touch with a lighter hand.
In yourself you stretch, you are well.
You look at things
Through his eyes.
A cardinal is red.
A sky is blue.
Suddenly you know he knows too.
He is not there but
You know you are tasting together
The winter, or a light spring weather.
His hand to take your hand is overmuch.
Too much to bear.
You cannot look in his eyes
Because your pulse must not say
What must not be said.
When he
Shuts a door-
Is not there_
Your arms are water.
And you are free
With a ghastly freedom.
You are the beautiful half
Of a golden hurt.
You remember and covet his mouth
To touch, to whisper on.
Oh when to declare
Is certain Death!
Oh when to apprize
Is to mesmerize,
To see fall down, the Column of Gold,
Into the commonest ash.

5. A Red, Red Rose skriven av Robert Burns

Robert Burns

O my Luve is like a red, red rose
   That’s newly sprung in June;
O my Luve is like the melody
   That’s sweetly played in tune.
So fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
   So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry.
Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
   And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
I will love thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my luve,
Though it were ten thousand mile.

6. When You Are Old skriven av William Butler Yeats

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

7. She Walks in Beauty skriven av Lord Byron

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

8. Love Comes Quietly skriven av Robert Creeley

Love comes quietly,
finally, drops
about me, on me,
in the old ways.

What did I know
thinking myself
able to go
alone all the way.

9. [i carry your heart with me(i carry it in] skriven av E.E. cummings

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)

i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

10. Echo skriven av Carol Ann Duffy

I think I was searching for treasures or stones
in the clearest of pools
when your face…

when your face,
like the moon in a well
where I might wish…

might well wish
for the iced fire of your kiss;
only on water my lips, where your face…

where your face was reflected, lovely,
not really there when I turned
to look behind at the emptying air…

the emptying air.

11. Lines Depicting Simple Happiness skriven av Peter Gizzi

The shine on her buckle took precedence in sun
Her shine, I should say, could take me anywhere
It feels right to be up this close in tight wind
It feels right to notice all the shiny things about you
About you there is nothing I wouldn’t want to know
With you nothing is simple yet nothing is simpler
About you many good things come into relation
I think of proofs and grammar, vowel sounds, like
A is for knee socks, E for panties
I is for buttondown, O the blouse you wear
U is for hair clip, and Y your tight skirt
The music picks up again, I am the man I hope to be
The bright air hangs freely near your newly cut hair
It is so easy now to see gravity at work in your face
Easy to understand time, that dark process
To accept it as a beautiful process, your face

12. For Keeps skriven av Joy Harjo

Sun makes the day new.
Tiny green plants emerge from earth.
Birds are singing the sky into place.
There is nowhere else I want to be but here.
I lean into the rhythm of your heart to see where it will take us.
We gallop into a warm, southern wind.
I link my legs to yours and we ride together,
Toward the ancient encampment of our relatives.
Where have you been? they ask.
And what has taken you so long?
That night after eating, singing, and dancing
We lay together under the stars.
We know ourselves to be part of mystery.
It is unspeakable.
It is everlasting.
It is for keeps.

13. I Crave Your Mouth, Your Voice, Your Hair skriven av Pablo Neruda

I crave your mouth, your voice, your hair.
Silent and starving, I prowl through the streets.
Bread does not nourish me, dawn disrupts me, all day
I hunt for the liquid measure of your steps.

I hunger for your sleek laugh,
your hands the color of a savage harvest,
hunger for the pale stones of your fingernails,
I want to eat your skin like a whole almond.

I want to eat the sunbeam flaring in your lovely body, the sovereign nose of your arrogant face, I want to eat the fleeting shade of your lashes,   and I pace around hungry, sniffing the twilight, hunting for you, for your hot heart, like a puma in the barrens of Quitratue.

14. Dear One Absent This Long While skriven av Lisa Olstein

It has been so wet stones glaze in moss;
everything blooms coldly.

I expect you. I thought one night it was you
at the base of the drive, you at the foot of the stairs,

you in a shiver of light, but each time
leaves in wind revealed themselves,

the retreating shadow of a fox, daybreak.
We expect you, cat and I, bluebirds and I, the stove.

In May we dreamed of wreaths burning on bonfires
over which young men and women leapt.

June efforts quietly.
I’ve planted vegetables along each garden wall

so even if spring continues to disappoint
we can say at least the lettuce loved the rain.

I have new gloves and a new hoe.
I practice eulogies. He was a hawk

with white feathered legs. She had the quiet ribs
of a salamander crossing the old pony post road.

Yours is the name the leaves chatter
at the edge of the unrabbited woods.

15. Again and again skriven av Rainer Maria Rilke

Again and again, even though we know love’s landscape
and the little churchyard with its lamenting names
and the terrible reticent gorge in which the others
end: again and again the two of us walk out together
under the ancient trees, lay ourselves down again and again
among the flowers, and look up into the sky.

16. I loved you first: but afterwards your love skriven av Christina Rossetti

I loved you first: but afterwards your love
Outsoaring mine, sang such a loftier song
As drowned the friendly cooings of my dove.
Which owes the other most? my love was long,
And yours one moment seemed to wax more strong;
I loved and guessed at you, you construed me
And loved me for what might or might not be –
Nay, weights and measures do us both a wrong.
For verily love knows not ‘mine’ or ‘thine;’
With separate ‘I’ and ‘thou’ free love has done,
For one is both and both are one in love:
Rich love knows nought of ‘thine that is not mine;’
Both have the strength and both the length thereof,
Both of us, of the love which makes us one.

17. Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? skriven av William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimmed;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wand’rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to Time thou grow’st.
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

18. One day i wrote her name skriven av Edmund Spenser

One day I wrote her name upon the strand,
But came the waves and washed it away:
Again I wrote it with a second hand,
But came the tide, and made my pains his prey.
”Vain man,” said she, ”that dost in vain assay,
A mortal thing so to immortalize;
For I myself shall like to this decay,
And eke my name be wiped out likewise.”
”Not so,” (quod I) ”let baser things devise
To die in dust, but you shall live by fame:
My verse your vertues rare shall eternize,
And in the heavens write your glorious name:
Where whenas death shall all the world subdue,
Our love shall live, and later life renew.”

19. I Am Not Yours skriven av Sara Teasdale

I am not yours, not lost in you,
Not lost, although I long to be
Lost as a candle lit at noon,
Lost as a snowflake in the sea.

You love me, and I find you still
A spirit beautiful and bright,
Yet I am I, who long to be
Lost as a light is lost in light.

Oh plunge me deep in love—put out
My senses, leave me deaf and blind,
Swept by the tempest of your love,
A taper in a rushing wind.

20. I Love You skriven av Ella Wheeler Wilcox

I love your lips when they’re wet with wine
And red with a wild desire;
I love your eyes when the lovelight lies
Lit with a passionate fire.
I love your arms when the warm white flesh
Touches mine in a fond embrace;
I love your hair when the strands enmesh
Your kisses against my face.

Not for me the cold, calm kiss
Of a virgin’s bloodless love;
Not for me the saint’s white bliss,
Nor the heart of a spotless dove.
But give me the love that so freely gives
And laughs at the whole world’s blame,
With your body so young and warm in my arms,
It sets my poor heart aflame.

So kiss me sweet with your warm wet mouth,
Still fragrant with ruby wine,
And say with a fervor born of the South
That your body and soul are mine.
Clasp me close in your warm young arms,
While the pale stars shine above,
And we’ll live our whole young lives away
In the joys of a living love.

Kärleksdikter från resten av världen

1. Shoulders skriven av Naomi Shihab Nye (Palestina)

A man crosses the street in rain,
stepping gently, looking two times north and south,
because his son is asleep on his shoulder.

No car must splash him.
No car drive too near to his shadow.

This man carries the world’s most sensitive cargo
but he’s not marked.
Nowhere does his jacket say FRAGILE,
HANDLE WITH CARE.

His ear fills up with breathing.
He hears the hum of a boy’s dream
deep inside him.

We’re not going to be able
to live in this world
if we’re not willing to do what he’s doing
with one another.

The road will only be wide.
The rain will never stop falling.

2. The Dove skriven av Mutsuo Takahashi (Japan)

Vit duva för Kärleksdikter

that dove gives it up, he asked
he puts out, I answered
OO what’s he into, he inquired further
round and round he goes, I added.
these eyes are good, he touched upon
just a fledgling, I tattled
yes, but. . . , he looked at me
yes, but what, I glared back
and you, he said
out of season, I condescended
I want you, he spoke of the dove
time to get the hell out of here, I muttered
from his clutches.

3. Summer Roof skriven av Choman Hardi (Kurdistan)

Every night that summer
when he went to bed on the flat roof,
I stayed awake
watching the opposite roof
where he was,
a tiny light turning on
every time he puffed his cigarette.

Once I was shown his paintings
and I went home
and wrote his name all over my books.

I kept imagining what he would say,
how I would respond.
I imagined being married to him,
looking after him when he fell ill,
cooking for him and washing his hair.
I imagined him sleeping on the same roof.

A whole year went by and we never talked
then suddenly an empty house opposite us,
an empty roof, not staring back
and sleepless nights for me.

Years later we met again
the same man with a few fingers missing
bad tempered, not able to paint.

We never spoke,
we remained on our separate roofs.

4. Lady of Miracles skriven av Nina Cassian (Rumänien)

Since you walked out on me
I’m getting lovelier by the hour.
I glow like a corpse in the dark.
No one sees how round and sharp
my eyes have grown
how my carcass looks like a glass urn,
how I hold up things in the rags of my hands,
the way I can stand though crippled by lust.
No, there’s just your cruelty circling
my head like a bright rotting halo.

5. In Search of the Other skriven av Ashjan Al Hendi (Saudiarabien)

Isabella
She searches for someone else every day;
and finds me
And I search for someone else;
but find her
It is said: that East and West shall never meet
but Isabella and I
Meet every day
on our trip in search of others.

6. Breasts skriven av Kutti Revathi (Indien)

Breasts are bubbles, rising
In wet marshlands

I watched in awe — and guarded —
Their gradual swell and blooming
At the edges of my youth’s season

Saying nothing to anyone else,
They sing along
With me alone, always:
Of Love,
Rapture,
Heartbreak

To the nurseries of my turning seasons,
They never once forgot or failed
To bring arousal

During penance, they swell, as if straining
To break free; and in the fierce tug of lust,
They soar, recalling the ecstasy of music

From the crush of embrace, they distill
The essence of love; and in the shock
Of childbirth, milk from coursing blood

Like two teardrops from an unfulfilled love
That cannot ever be wiped away,
They well up, as if in grief, and spill over.

7. Should You Die First skriven av Annabelle Despard (Norge)

Blommor på kista för Kärleksdikter

Let me at least collect your smells
as specimens: your armpits, woollen
sweater,
fingers yellow from smoke. I’d need
to take an imprint of your foot
and make recordings of your laugh.
These archives I shall carry into exile;
my body a St Helena where ships no
longer dock,
a rock in the ocean, an outpost where the
wind howls
and polar bears beat down the door.

8. When Someone Goes Away Everything That’s Been Done Comes Back skriven av Nikola Madzirov (Makedonien)

In the embrace on the corner you will recognize
someone’s going away somewhere. It’s always so.
I live between two truths
like a neon light trembling in
an empty hall. My heart collects
more and more people, since they’re not here anymore.
It’s always so. One fourth of our waking hours
is spent in blinking. We forget
things even before we lose them –
the calligraphy notebook, for instance.
Nothing’s ever new. The bus
seat is always warm.
Last words are carried over
like oblique buckets to an ordinary summer fire.
The same will happen all over again tomorrow—
the face, before it vanishes from the photo,
will lose the wrinkles. When someone goes away
everything that’s been done comes back.

9. Forgive Us Our Trespasses skriven av Sinéad Morrissey (Irland)

Of which the first is love. The sad, unrepeatable fact
that the loves we shouldn’t foster burrow faster and linger longer
than sanctioned kinds can. Loves that thrive on absence, on lack
of return, or worse, on harm, are unkillable, Father.
They do not die in us. And you know how we’ve tried.
Loves nursed, inexplicably, on thoughts of sex,
a return to touched places, a backwards glance, a sigh–
they come back like the ride. They are with us at the terminus
when cancer catches us. They have never been away.
Forgive us the people we love–their dragnet influence.
Those disallowed to us, those who frighten us, those who stay
on uninvited in our loves and every night revisit us.
Accept from us the inappropriate
by which our dreams and daily scenes stay separate.

10. Strawberries skriven av Edwin Morgan (Skottland)

There were never strawberries
like the ones we had
that sultry afternoon
sitting on the step
of the open french window
facing each other
your knees held in mine
the blue plates in our laps
the strawberries glistening
in the hot sunlight
we dipped them in sugar
looking at each other
not hurrying the feast
for one to come
the empty plates
laid on the stone together
with the two forks crossed
and I bent towards you
sweet in that air
in my arms
abandoned like a child
from your eager mouth
the taste of strawberries
in my memory
lean back again
let me love you

let the sun beat
on our forgetfulness
one hour of all
the heat intense
and summer lightning
on the Kilpatrick hills

let the storm wash the plates
